Ena Katarina Haler

Ena Katarina Haler was born in 1996 in Osijek. She studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb, where she graduated in Architecture and Urbanism with a project titled "Drugi Mediteran - Memorijalni centar Predraga Matvejevića u Mostaru." Her first novel "Nadohvat", published in 2019, is about interethnic conflicts during World War II and a personal tragedy based on the family story. The novel was shortlisted for several literary awards and won the "Ksaver Šandor Gjalski" award for the best prose work and the "Ivan and Josip Kozarac" award for the book of the year. It was translated into Macedonian. She currently works at the Institute of Art History. She writes for the weekly "Express" and independent media outlets. "Nevini" is her second novel. She lives in Zagreb.
