Nena Pavelić

Nena Pavelić was born in 1990 in Rijeka. She works in marketing by profession, and is an illustrator by vocation. After she works the morning shift as a marketing manager at an advertising agency, her three-year-old becomes her afternoon shift manager. She keeps the evening shift for illustrating and writing. As a freelance illustrator, she works for various clients in Croatia and beyond. Already in her childhood, she fantasised about making picture books for children, but she completely replaced poems and stories with drawing and photography, and took part in several group exhibitions, both with art works and with photography. A little older and a little braver, she finally decided to show the manuscript and illustrations to someone outside her apartment. Her first picture book Kako biti najjači was published by the publishing house Val, with a little imagination, a little childlike inspiration and a lot of search for courage.
